Online counsellor in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, offering a confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life
Hello, and a warm welcome to my page! Please make yourself comfortable, get a warm drink and have a mooch around my website. I understand that sometimes admitting we want to talk to a counsellor can feel difficult, so this is a big step to take. Remember, there is nothing wrong with wanting to come to counselling - it is positive that you are taking the time to prioritise yourself and your wellbeing.
Life can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming as it is, with every day presenting it's own problems that need to be navigated. On top of this, global events such as Covid, the Ukraine war or environmental concerns can stir up difficult emotions and perhaps make life feel even harder. Or perhaps these events have simply amplified things we were already feeling. Furthermore, Christmas and New Year can be a difficult time for many people, stirring up old memories and opening up old wounds.
When we find ourselves struggling to cope we can then feel overwhelmed and stuck and not always know where to turn. We don't want to bother other people. Counselling is a safe space, where you will be heard without judgement and you can freely say what it is you are thinking and feeling. I will not offer advice, nor tell you what to do. Instead we will talk about and explore these feelings and in doing so we may better understand how and why you feel the way you do and what choices you may have.

Online Counselling
Although I am based in Burgess Hill, a vast majority of my sessions are delivered online. This is becoming an increasingly popular method of counselling as it allows you, the client, greater choice and flexibility in terms of where you choose to have your session (in your office, out on a walk, in your car, for example). As long as it is private and you feel comfortable.
I understand that for some people the thought of speaking to a counsellor online may feel daunting, but please do get in touch and this is something we can discuss together. Once you know what you are doing it is quite straightforward - if I can work it out, so can you!
"The moment I spoke to Alice over zoom I instantly felt comfortable and able to talk freely. I specifically asked Alice to help me reflect on everything I spoke about and she never disappointed me. Each session left me feeling lighter, listened to and understood, I was then able to reflect and see where I could change things to make sure that I was prioritising myself. I would highly recommend Alice, she has made a huge difference to me and it’s so reassuring that I can always get in touch if I need support again."
"After struggling during the Covid lock down I felt I needed help with my mental health. Alice has been great, she is relaxed, friendly and supportive. She has helped me open up and talk about my depression, stress and anxieties, then reflect back and look at things differently. It's not always easy, and takes time, but she has really helped me get my head into a better place, allowing me to get on with life again."
"I contacted Alice when I was going through a difficult period of anxiety, and I am so glad that I did. She created a safe and non-judgmental space where I could explore my feelings, thoughts, and habitual ways of being. It was a rewarding and collaborative experience where I felt truly understood and gently challenged, often in a light-hearted way. I really appreciated the humour in our sessions as well as the in-depth work. I now feel so much more resilient and lighter in myself."
Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes, taking place on a weekly basis, and cost £55 per session. I have evening and morning appointments available. I do have some concession sessions for £40.
Before we begin working together I offer a free of charge initial appointment where we can discuss what you want from counselling and if you feel I am the right counsellor for you.
Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed.
About Me
I qualified from the University of Greenwich in 2020 with an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling. My training is in the integrative approach which means I draw on theory from a number of different modes including psychodynamic, person-centred and humanistic. This means I can be flexible and adapt my approach according to what works for you.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working towards accreditation, and work according to their ethical framework. Prior to this I spent 10 years delivering psychological based interventions in a group setting.
I have been living in West Sussex for nearly 3 years and am continuing to enjoy discovering all the wonderful things this beautiful county has to offer alongside my family and Border Terrier.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment where we can discuss what you want from counselling and you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
You can also call me on 07388 455451 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
